Compact home projector beside a tape measure and HDMI cable facing a living-room screen

Start with screen size and throw distance

Measure the distance between the projector position and the wall or screen, then compare it with the throw-ratio or image-size guidance for the exact VANKYO model. A product photo cannot show whether a projector will fill your intended screen from the shelf, table or ceiling position available in your room.

Mark the projector footprint, power-cable route and ventilation clearance. VANKYO support material says placement affects image shape and blocked ventilation can increase heat and fan noise. If the projector must sit off-center, confirm the model's keystone or alignment controls; digital correction is not a substitute for a sensible physical position.

Match brightness to the real room

VANKYO's FAQ explains that ambient light can wash out a projected image and that a larger image spreads the available light over more area. Compare brightness using the same published measurement standard instead of treating differently labelled figures as equivalent.

For a daytime living room, note curtains, windows and wall color. For a darker room, check whether you can control stray light without blocking ventilation. Base the decision on the exact model specification and planned image size, not a single "best brightness" claim.

Check source devices and the smart platform

List what you will connect: a streaming stick, game console, laptop, disc player, phone or external speakers. On the exact product page, confirm:

  • the number and type of HDMI, USB and audio connections;
  • whether adapters or cables are included;
  • the native resolution and supported input formats;
  • whether Bluetooth or Wi-Fi serves audio, casting or both;
  • the installed smart platform, if any; and
  • whether your streaming apps and accounts are supported in your region.

VANKYO currently lists models using different smart-TV platforms, including Google TV and Roku TV. An app on one model does not prove it is available on another, and streaming services can change device or regional support.

Plan for sound, mounting and access

Built-in speakers may be convenient, but room size and listening expectations determine whether you need external audio. Confirm the supported audio output before buying a soundbar or speaker. For ceiling mounting, verify model-specific mounting points, compatible hardware, image-orientation controls and safe cable routing.

Keep filters, ports, focus controls and ventilation openings accessible. A clean installation that blocks routine maintenance can become frustrating later.

Review delivery, returns and warranty separately

VANKYO's current direct-store shipping policy says eligible orders ship to supported addresses in the contiguous United States. Free standard shipping applies to eligible direct orders, and most in-stock orders are typically delivered in 3–7 business days; this is not a guaranteed arrival date.

Eligible direct purchases may be requested for return within 30 calendar days after delivery, subject to approval and policy conditions. Keep packaging, accessories and proof of purchase until you know the setup works for your room.

The warranty is separate. VANKYO currently states a one-year warranty for eligible projectors from the original purchase date, with proof-of-purchase and seller requirements. A warranty addresses covered defects; it is not an extended change-of-mind return period. Recheck all policies at checkout.

A five-minute pre-purchase check

  1. Measure projector-to-screen distance and the available image area.
  2. Note the room's daylight and evening-light conditions.
  3. List every source device, required port and audio connection.
  4. Confirm the exact model's native resolution, alignment controls, smart platform and included accessories.
  5. Recheck delivery eligibility, current total, return conditions and warranty on VANKYO's site.

Frequently asked questions

Does every VANKYO projector use the same smart-TV system?

No. Current listings include different platforms and feature sets. Confirm the exact model page and regional app support.

Can I choose a projector from screen size alone?

No. Screen size depends on throw distance and model geometry, while perceived image quality also depends on ambient light, placement and the source signal.

Is the 30-day return period the same as the one-year warranty?

No. The direct-store return policy covers eligible return requests within its stated window and conditions. The limited warranty separately covers eligible defects and has its own requirements.
